The friendly faces and creatures around the house.
Fabiola, our house manager
Fabiola is the most important person you will meet during your stay. She looks after the house throughout the year, prepared it for your arrival, made the beds and cleaned everything.
Her husband, Kostas, did all the stonework at the house. They have two lovely daughters, and Stella has often looked after Noah and Ian.
Stella speaks very good English. Fabiola speaks excellent Greek and Albanian but not much English, so Google Translate may help. Her kind nature makes everything easy.
The cats
Baldrick and Nibby are large black senior cats, brother and sister, very tame and cuddly.
Tommy is a smaller black cat, recently neutered, extremely social and cuddly.
Nicky had kittens this spring, and Maya helped find homes for them.
Feed them good-quality food before your own breakfast and again in the evening, with cuddles in between, and they will likely stay around the house. They are social, excellent hunters and have helped keep snakes, scorpions and other unwanted visitors away.
Ants and other visitors
You will probably see ants. They lived here first and still feel strongly about the house.
Scorpions are rare; their sting is usually painful rather than dangerous. Keep shoes indoors and shake out anything left outside.
Spiders are useful because they eat other insects. You may also see a harmless legless lizard that looks somewhat like a snake.
